My mother likes to do everything herself. She is very picky and has to have things done just so. I have been trying to tell her to let people help, but she does not want to bother anyone. Just like her deck cleaning. Being out in the sun for hours is not something I would like her to do. But she just will not let anyone do it for her. But I finally convinced her that she could hire someone and she could watch them to make sure the did it just so. She was not so against the help since she was paying for it.

I was so excited the other day when I thought I had found a website that offered free instant credit reports. It was only after I signed up to get one, that I realized that what I had done was to actually get a bogus credit report, an estimated credit score, and I wound up enrolling in some sort of credit protection plan that I don’t need. I wish the sites would be more honest, open, and forthcoming about what you’re really getting into when you click on the order now button. I think they’re just trying to take advantage of people like me.

I retired when I was 55 years old. I was fortunate to have worked for county government because my retirement benefits are pretty substantial. One thing that I have considered in the near future are some medigap policies. These policies work in conjunction with Medicare. These policies cover the difference between what a medical procedure costs and what Medicare will cover. I’ve looked at this topic long hard and I’ve come to the conclusion I really need to get this type of coverage. In talking with other people my age a lot of them do not know that this type of coverage even exists.

Filing for bankruptcy puts into effect something called the “automatic stay.” The automatic stay immediately stops your creditors from trying to collect what you owe them. So, at least temporarily, creditors cannot legally grab or garnish your wages, empty your bank account, go after your car, house or other property, or cut off your utility service or welfare benefits.
Until your bankruptcy case ends, your financial problems are in the hands of the bankruptcy court. It assumes legal control of the property you own, except your exempt property, which is yours to keep and the debts you owe as of the date you file. Nothing can be sold or paid without the court’s consent. You have control, however, with a few exceptions, of property and income you acquire after you file for bankruptcy.
