Examining used cars by owner

So you found the car that you were looking for and the price being demanded is just right. However how do you actually know that this car is any good? You don’t want to spend a few thousand dollars on getting the car in a good working condition especially not early models used cars by owner. The first things you need to do are to startup the car and see if there is exhaust smoke. Once you have determined that there is no smoke you should then take the car for a spin. If everything looks good you have just found the right car.
