The Teacher Becomes The Student

February 5th, 2010 by admin

I’ve been teaching a training course at the community center for a little over 15 years. My classes consist mainly of mechanical training. Last week I found myself in the student position. One of my best students came to me and said you’re not going this right. At first I was a little upset but when he explained to me that the methods have changed I thought how can I be teaching students when I’m not aware of the new technology. So I went online to try to find updated courses in my field. I ended up signing up for classes with ITC learning. Since the classes are online I can conveniently take the courses as my schedule permits.

The Valentine’s Day Party

February 3rd, 2010 by admin

I am in charge of the Valentine’s Day party at my daughter’s school. I need to come up with two activities and one craft. I am thinking that one thing I may do is right down an bunch of fun chocolate facts and a couple of false ones. Then, I will have the class decide which are true and which are false. This should be fun for the kids. I may even give out a chocolate prize for whoever gets the most right. I am still stuck on a craft idea. I want to something different than just decorating a valentine card for a parent.

End of the Global Warming Hoax Era

January 27th, 2010 by admin

Who would ever have though that uber liberal Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer from California would admitt cap-and-trade legislation may be at least 10 years away?   This might just turn out to be the year when the global warming hoax died, if the climate change hysterics continue to show their true colors.

According to World Net Daily’s Jerome Corsi, “Climategate revelations that prominent global alarmists have manipulated climate data prove global warming was an ideological agenda masquerading as a scientific theory.”  First came these emails out of East Anglia University, illustrating that the scientists were having to wrok hard to CREATE a crisis where one did not exist.  Then most recently came the United Nation’s IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) being forced to - in their words - “expressed regret” that they had to confess that the 2007 hysteria about the Himalayan glaciers which were “very likely” to melt by 2035 was really just a crock.  Little basis in fact, I think is how they said it!  Stay tuned.  There’s bound to be more!
