West Coast or East Coast

I am having a really hard time deciding on which part of the New Zealand coast I would like to go to for a vacation. I am used to west coast type of climate but maybe this would be a good chance for me to explore the east coast living. It seems like all the different Marlborough Holiday Homes that I see would satisfy any need that I may have but I am just wondering which coast to explore first. I suppose I will stick to the west because I am more use to that. Maybe next vacation I will try the east side.
